"The Beauty in Black" es el primer sencillo oficial de la banda sueca de metal sinfonico Therion.

La banda firmó un contrato con Nuclear Blast en el 1994 con el que se quedaría hasta la fecha. Su primer álbum publicado por esta discográfica fue Lepaca Kliffoth, que también tenía un sencillo llamado "The Beauty in Black" el cual fue lanzado antes del disco, para su promoción.

Este álbum fue muy experimental, en el cual se usaron voces clásicas de soprano, y también Johnsson utilizo una forma totalmente nueva de cantar. Más tarde Lars Rosenberg toma el puesto de Fredrik Isaksson, el cual decide dejar la banda por problemas personales.
